“The Riches of Jabal Amel in Natural Resources and Archaeological Sites”
Jabal Amel, a region rich in intellect and deeply rooted in history, continues to unveil its secrets thanks to the efforts of historian and researcher Kassem Hojeij.
Hojeij is one of the leading figures in documenting the unwritten history of Jabal Amel. He has dedicated his efforts to uncovering the many archaeological sites in the area and highlighting their importance to the region’s culture and history.

Hojeij pointed out the region’s abundance of natural resources, including mercury and essential materials for medical and laboratory industries. He maintains ongoing collaborations with archaeologists from Egypt, Iraq, and other countries to uncover more archaeological treasures in Jabal Amel.

“Jesus Christ and His Footprints in Jabal Amel”
According to Hojeij, King Hiram II gifted ten cities near Tyre to Jesus Christ. He also stated that Jesus passed through ten villages in Jabal Amel, including Deir Antar, where He performed miracles, most notably in the town of Qana.

Hojeij added:
“Near Deir Antar, there are remains from the early Christian era, including caves and grottos where artifacts belonging to the first Christians were discovered.”

“A Message of Religious Unity and Peaceful Coexistence”
Hojeij emphasized the importance of promoting dialogue between civilizations and religions, suggesting that Lebanon can serve as a model for Islamic-Christian dialogue and coexistence.

“An Invitation for Pope Francis to Visit Jabal Amel”
In closing, Hojeij expressed his hope for Pope Francis to visit Jabal Amel:
“I hope the Pope visits the sites Jesus Christ walked through, as documented in the Bible and the rare historical records I possess.

Such a visit would highlight the exemplary peaceful coexistence in the region and help declare these archaeological sites as Christian religious landmarks, attracting pilgrims from all over the world.”
